Rachel Galligan didn't even know Eastern had a women's basketball team when she first came to Charleston. The Panthers' leading scorer this past season participated in the IHSA Class A Track and Field finals in Charleston while a junior and senior at Bloomington Catholic Central High School. Brady Sallee said in late March he wanted to build a women's basketball program. Sallee, the Eastern women's basketball head coach, will get an opportunity to that for the next three years. Sallee's contract was extended through the 2011 season for the second time in his four years at Eastern by a vote of confidence at the Board of Trustees on Monday. (0) comments

Eastern junior Jenna Uhe covers quite a bit of the "field" part of track and field. Not only is she a standout jumper, but she also began throwing the javelin her freshman year. Doing both the long jump and triple jump isn't as rare, but her success in both hasn't been matched recently in the Ohio Valley Conference. (0) comments

Eastern men's golf team is in sixth place out of 10 teams after the second round of the three-day Ohio Valley Conference Championships at the Paducah Country Club in Paducah, Ky. The Panthers shot a team total of 305 (+17) and has a combined total of 623(+47) for the first two rounds, which is three strokes behind Samford. (0) comments
