Memorial planned for student

A memorial service will be held for Eastern student Lauren Sturgeon, 21, at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney, according to University Spokesperson Vicki Woodard.
Sturgeon, a family and consumer sciences major, passed away at St. John's Hospital in Springfield on Wednesday.
Woodard could not confirm Sturgeon's cause of death.
Visitation before the memorial service will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home.
Sturgeon was a junior at Eastern and a graduate of Wabash Valley College.
Sturgeon is survived by her parents, Loy and Lynne Sturgeon, of Olney; and brother, Landon Sturgeon, of Terre Haute, Ind.
