Issue date: 3/4/08 Section: News
All on-campus classes that are scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. or after tonight are canceled because of inclement weather, the university announced.
The university made the announcement shortly before 6 p.m. tonight on its website.
However, university spokesperson Vicki Woodard said she does not expect a decision to be made tonight regarding the status of Wednesday's classes. She said if the university decides to cancel classes, the decision wouldn't be made until Wednesday at 4 a.m.
A combination of sleet, snow and freezing rain fell upon Charleston today, with temperatures in the upper 20s for most of the day.
Last year, Eastern canceled two days worth of classes because of a severe winter storm in mid-February. It was the first time in nearly 25 years classes at Eastern had been canceled.
