The first Ohio Valley Conference Championship Eastern women's track and field ever won was completely a team victory. "Basically they just fought and clawed for everything they could get across the board and never gave up," said Tom Akers, Eastern's current men's head coach. (0) comments

Men claim 6th straight championship

The dynasty continues. Eastern men's track and field dominated its way toward its sixth straight Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship Friday and Saturday at Lantz Fieldhouse. Samford ends Women's season

Not only did Samford close out Seibert Hall, but the Bulldogs also closed-out the Panthers' season. Eastern's 70-49 loss on Saturday eliminated any chance of the Panthers making back-to-back trips to the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament. Even if the Panthers were able to pull out the victory, Eastern Kentucky and Austin Peay won its last game to remove any hope the Panthers might have had. (0) comments

Slap-hitting way to win

Panthers use solid performance from its young outfielders and four-year starter Short to key 3-3 weekend

Eastern used timely hitting from its younger players and another solid performance from senior Sandyn Short to win two games Sunday in Tulsa, Okla. The Panthers (6-5), on the strength of a complete-game pitching performance from junior Karyn Mackie and key RBIs from Angela Danca and Megan Nelson held off Missouri State 3-2 in Eastern's first game Sunday in the five-team tournament. In the history of the Ohio Valley Conference, no two teams had ever won both the men's and the women's indoor track and field conference titles. That changed Saturday. The men's team captured their sixth consecutive indoor conference title and women's head coach Mary Wallace (above) led her team to its first ever conference title. (0) comments

A missed wide-open layup at the buzzer at Eastern Kentucky. A questionable charge call with the game tied in regulation against Austin Peay. A missed 3-pointer at the buzzer to tie the game against Tennessee State. All three of theses endings happened in the month of January for Eastern men's basketball. (0) comments

Men's season ends in Alabama

Samford closed out Seibert Hall in grand style. Eastern closed out its season with a dismal performance. For the third time in the last four years, Eastern will not qualify for the eight-team Ohio Valley Conference Tournament. And it's all about how they started Saturday's game against Samford that led to their 20th loss of the year. (0) comments
