On Saturday, over 50 people plunged into Lake Sara's 39 degree water in Effingham to raise money for the Special Olympics. The annual Polar Plunge took place in 14 locations across Illinois. The Polar Plunge in Effingham is organized by the area director, Michael Fulford.

Yesterday, six female students portrayed six women throughout history, such as Elizabeth Blackwell, Hatshepsut and Georgia O'Keeffe, during the 17th annual Living History program. There are five seats open on Staff Senate and eight committees which staff members can serve on.
