Fliers now need approval from Office of Campus Scheduling

Restrictions posed for fliers

Effective this semester, all fliers posted on campus will need approval by the Office of Campus Scheduling. This new policy is part of the revisions of the Internal Governing Policy, which was approved by President Bill Perry Sept. 28. "There are at least 50 posting locations throughout campus, and frequently they become a mess with 'postings on top of postings,' as well as outdated and incomplete information," said Dan Nadler, vice president for student affairs. Council approves energy contract

City estimated to save $24,000 with fixed rate

The City Council capped off a quick meeting Tuesday night with the unanimous approval of another energy contract that is estimated to save the city $24,000. The contract with Ameren Energy Marketing Co. will be effective this month and last until October 2010. (0) comments

Passing the $205 million for the Monetary Award Program grant was just the first step. The next step is for Gov. Pat Quinn to figure out where to cut from the budget to fund the grant. Political science professor Richard Wandling thinks approving the $205 million before gaining a funding source was not an empty gesture. (0) comments

New dining option arrives

Students looking for a nice sit-down restaurant to take their dates may not need to leave the campus. Pantera, the campus's student-run, full-service restaurant, is now taking dinner reservations for Nov. 10, 17, and Dec. 1. Pantera, Spanish for "panther," can be found in the Family and Consumer Sciences department on the first floor of Klehm Hall, Room 1418. (0) comments
