Seniors Stephanie Militello and Crystal Jones, and sophomore Coartney McKinney were all out with injuries or sickness for the Eastern rugby team Saturday. So, the Panthers needed even leadership from freshman Lauren Doyle and other freshmen. And the Panthers got it. (0) comments
A lot of things need to fall a team's way to win a conference title. It needs to beat the bad teams, pull off a couple upsets and find a little luck along the way. It needs to stay relatively healthy, defend its home turf, and play better than average on the road. (0) comments
The Eastern men's soccer team lost to Bradley 1-0 Saturday in Peoria, eliminating the Panthers from Missouri Valley Conference Tournament contention with two more conference home matches remaining in the season. Despite not playing for a spot or seed in the tournament, Eastern head coach Adam Howarth said the team still has a lot to play for. (0) comments
