Cameron Chana, a business administration major, along with Justin Sleezer of Yorkville, died of head injuries caused by a bus mishap on I-57 on Saturday. Chana and Sleezer were standing on the second level of a double-decker bus when it passed under the overpass at Route 16 in Mattoon. (1) comment
On the first Tuesday of the each month, Charleston residents hear sirens sounding around 10 a.m. According to the Illinois Emergency Management Agency, emergency sirens are to be regularly tested. "Tuesday is the day designated by the state to ensure the sirens operate properly," said Tom Watson, the coordinator of the Coles County Emergency Management Agency. (0) comments
