Track: Another day, another title

The Eastern men's and women's outdoor track and field teams are back where they belong: On top of the Ohio Valley Conference. Both teams finished in first place at the OVC Outdoor Championships Saturday in Richmond, Ky. The teams were coming off a sweep in the Indoor Championships earlier this year. (0) comments

Baseball: Panthers secure grasp of first place

Two comeback victories highlighted a rain-shortened weekend as the Eastern baseball team secured its hold on first place in the Ohio Valley Conference with a sweep of Southeast Missouri in Cape Girardeau, Mo. The Panthers won both ends of Saturday's doubleheader 8-7 before Sunday's game was canceled because of rain. (0) comments

Softball: Panthers clinch tourney berth

Finally. The Eastern softball team ended its 12-game losing streak with an 11-3 victory in five innings in the nightcap of a doubleheader against Austin Peay Saturday in Clarksville, Tenn. The Panthers (25-27, 9-14 Ohio Valley Conference) almost ended the streak in the first game but lost 7-6 in 10 innings Saturday. (0) comments
