Student Government is tired of Eastern students not knowing who they are. The Student Senate meetings are empty and voter turnout is about 10 percent or less at elections. In an effort to change this, Student Senate is going to introduce three resolutions and possibly a bylaw change increasing its visibility on campus at its meeting at 7 p.m. today in the Arcola/Tuscola Room at the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union. The Student Senate diversity requirement might get a facelift tonight at the Student Senate meeting. The proposed bylaw change is a rewording of the diversity requirement to not attending culturally diverse events, but instead performing constituent and campus involvement requirements, effectively ending the requirement. English Professor Michael Loudon chose three other professors for their knowledge and research of the colonization of Africa.
