After a pair of hard-fought games resulted in a 1-1 record, the Eastern women's basketball team hits the road at 7 tonight with a game against the Bradley Braves in East Peoria. The game is being played in Ramsey Gym at Illinois Central College because Robertson Fieldhouse, the Braves' normal home court, was torn down and a new stadium is being built. (0) comments

The Ohio Valley Conference doesn't have a separate league title game like the Atlantic Coast Conference or the Southeastern Conference has. Whichever team has the best conference record at the end of the season is the league champ. But this year there will be a conference title game of sorts as the top two teams in the league will play head-to-head in the final game of the regular season to determine the conference champion. The Eastern volleyball team didn't envision the 2008 season would go this bad. The team set a low in victories (5), conference wins (2) and dropped 34-straight sets. After beginning the season 3-3, losing streaks of 11 and nine matches were ended with victories against 2007 Ohio Valley Conference Tournament Champion Tennessee State, who is only a shadow of last year's team. The Eastern men's basketball team will host its home opener at 7 tonight at Lantz Arena against Division III opponent Manchester College.
