More than 2,000 years after the play's first performance at the annual drama festival in Athens, Greece, "Medea" made its way to the Black Box Theater of the Doudna Fine Arts Center. With its opening Friday night, "Medea" became the first play to be performed in the Black Box. (0) comments

Sherell Cannon will see President-elect Barack Obama in person in January in Washington, D.C. Cannon, a freshman biological sciences major, will be among the few Americans who will be attending the 2009 Presidential Inauguration on Jan. 20, 2009. Residents' concerns about the Renewable Energy Center were again voiced during Eastern's second informational meeting about the center Friday. The plant, which will be built at the intersection of 18th Street and Edgar Drive, will burn synthetic natural gas derived from wood chips to heat and cool the campus. (3) comments

No smoke or smell will be emitted from the new Renewable Energy Center, which is slated to replace the current coal-burning steam plant in fall 2010. The center will use a biomass gasification process to heat and cool the campus. A biomass is an organic material that can be used as a renewable resource. (0) comments
