Celebrating Pemberton Hall's 100th anniversary with alumni this weekend would not make sense without knowing the person behind the name. Pemberton Hall is named in honor of Illinois Sen. Stanton C. About one and a half to two inches of water filled the Doudna Fine Arts Center's main floor Thursday because of a broken sprinkler. Firefighters arrived at the building at 12:34 p.m. after Doudna had already been evacuated. Alpha Gamma Delta, Sigma Pi, the Black Student Union and Mike Leon walked away winners at the "Yell Like Hell" and "Who Wants to be a Mascot" competitions Thursday night in the McAfee Gymnasium as part of Homecoming Week events. Lord, provost and vice president for academic affairs, said a major misconception is whether or not another faculty member is evaluating the writing assignment that was evaluated by the faculty member who assigned it.
