The time capsule dug up Tuesday night was expected to be from 1962; however, it was actually a capsule buried by the residents living there in 1979. The residents dug up the original and replaced it on Hallows eve. On-campus schoolhouse to stay put

Ted Ostrem and the Coles County Historical Society became concerned when they heard a rumor that moving the Greenwood School Museum was being discussed. An agreement was signed in 1974 between the Eastern Board of Trustees and the historical society. The agreement allows for the school to be on Eastern's property and requires the historical society to maintain and upkeep the facility. (0) comments

A proposal introduced at tonight's Student Senate meeting would allow bylaw changes to only be introduced and voted on during the last four weeks of the semester. The rest of the semester, senate members would not be allowed to have any bylaw changes on the floor. (0) comments

HOPE is hosting a candlelight vigil to honor victims and survivors of domestic violence at 6 p.m. today at the pavilion at Morton Park located on Lincoln Avenue between Division and Second streets. Motherlode will provide music at the beginning of the vigil and then survivors of domestic violence will be invited to share their stories. (0) comments

Faith Elam, a senior English major, admits she is biased with her vote because she was raised as a Democrat and will continue to vote that way in the upcoming presidential election. (0) comments

The Reading Center is not just for those majoring in teaching, but also for any students that would like to improve their reading and study skills.
