Charleston City Council approves new Sunday bar hours

The Charleston City Council unanimously approved the ordinance to increase hours of sale for liquor on Sundays. To aid sales and retention of guests in Charleston's bars, hours have increased from 11 p.m. to 12 a.m. Sunday nights with the approval of the ordinance. (0) comments

A new chair for the biological sciences department will be in place July 1, 2009. An advisory search committee is meeting and looking for a replacement to Andy Methven, the current chair of the biology department. Methven will continue as chair until June 30, 2009, said Mary Ann Hanner, dean of college of sciences. (0) comments
