New Athletic Director Barbara Burke has been on the job since June 1. Despite the short time Burke's been on Eastern's campus, she is already planning for the future. For the next four weeks, Burke is scheduled for countless meetings that fill her days. She said this is to make goals before the fall, and eventually implementing a three to five year plan. Eastern's softball players Angela Danca, Denee' Menzione, and Melinda Jackson were all starters on the Aurora Raiders summer league. The Raiders won the 18-and-Over Northern Illinois State Tournament championship during the last week in June. The Raiders went 7-1 at the USSSA-sponsored event to earn a berth in the 18-and-Over Fast Pitch World Series (East), which is to be held the weekend of July 25-27 in Rockford. (0) comments
