Forum tackles hate issues

Issues surrounding racism and promoting diversity in the community were discussed Monday night as "Not In Our Town," a forum for the prevention of hate crimes, met in the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union. The Illinois Board of Higher Education Student Advisory Committee chose Eastern's Katie Cox to serve as the student voting member on the IBHE. The IBHE-SAC met on March 24 at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills to elect its 2002-2003 executive officers.

They may not be the rooftops next to Wrigley Field, but parking spots Student Senate members hope will be reassigned may give Eastern students the best seat in the house when it comes to softball games.

Eastern's Habitat for Humanity chapter is hosting a dinner for all of those that volunteered their help to the "House that EIU Built" at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Newman Catholic Center.

Buzzard Auditorium and the math department's computer lab and diagnostics room, both located in Old Main, were found vandalized Sunday morning.

An overhead video projector valued at about $10,000 was reported stolen Wednesday, April 3 from the Technology training room in McAfee Gymnasium.
