Halloween is a time for ghoulish costumes, activities, and also some ghoulish deals and dishes at a few local restaurants.

Most local restaurants have decorated their interior with festive Halloween decorations, including The City Limits, What's Cookin', Stix and Marianne's Deli.  Also, E.L. Kracker's, Stix, What's Cookin', The City Limits and Lefty's Holler employees will be getting in touch with their inner child and getting in the Halloween spirit by dressing in costumes at work on Friday.

But what about the deals?  Several of the local bars will be having food and drink specials and various contests for patrons on Friday night.  Stix will be having special deals on Halloween Coors Light glow cups.  There will also be a costume judging contest with cash prizes awarded to the winners.

Lefty's will also be celebrating Halloween with some unique contests and special drinks.  They will hold a pumpkin carving contest from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and after that they will have a special contest called "Bobbing for Buds."  Contestants will bob for letters and receive prizes for spelling B-U-D.  Lefty's will also be having a costume judging contest.  There will be special drinks made especially for Halloween, such as a "Witch's Brew."

If you're not looking to spend Halloween in a bar, local cafe Jitter's & Bliss has $1 ice cream scoops served with Halloween sprinkles.  In addition to their Halloween deal, they have some seasonal items that are available this fall.  Pumpkin spice coffee and caramel apple cider are two items that will only be available for the fall season.

Steve Cummins, Jitters & Bliss employee, said "offering special menu items and deals for the fall and Halloween seasons is important because it gets people in a very festive mood."

So if you find you're lacking the Halloween spirit this Friday, the local Charleston restaurants can help.  With all of the special contests Halloween deals, who can help but get in the Halloween spirit?
