Eastern's Black Student Union presented a "Spring Fashion Show," whose models consisted of Eastern students who wore colorful outfits with matching accessories with the theme 'Envy Me' Saturday in the Grand Ballroom.
Attendees at the event included other students, friends and family.
Theodore Collins, from Chicago, said he would not miss this show for anything.
"My daughter, Tiara Collins, is participating (in the event)," Theodore said. "We have to show support for the things kids do whether they're in kindergarten or college."
The fashion categories were black out, club wear, casual wear, lingerie, EIU wear, and rags-2-riches.
In the 'Casual Wear' scene, one model wore a smooth white jacket and denim jeans that fell below the knee with white heels that tie crisscross up the leg.
One model wearing a dark grey suit with a blue shirt underneath astonished the audience by flipping open a dark grey cellular phone that matched the attire.
The various colors astonished the audience. The models moved in unison.
"It took concentration to get my moves down (and) maintain focus," said Quentin Frazier, a freshman political science and secondary education major.
The 'Lingerie Scene' contained class and finesse. The models were paired woman to man and wore matching garments.
A pair wore matching silk leopard prints created as boxers for the man and a negligee for the woman. Another pair presented the woman in a silk yellow and blue negligee with a coordinating jacket and the man in long sleeve blue pajamas.
The hosts of the show, Bianca Roberson and Black Student Union President Thomas Battle, also wore coordinating attires of pink and gray.
Battle said the Spring Fashion Show went real good, and that the hours of preparation paid off.
