University Board came to the Residence Hall Association meeting Thursday night looking for "Parti Gras" volunteers.

Spring fling Parti Gras is taking place today from noon-3 p.m. It will be in the North Quad by the library and is free to students. Andrew Hubbard, University Board president, came to ask RHA members to help with setup for the event any time between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Parti Gras will have free rib-eye sandwiches, hamburgers, bratwurst, cake, and lemon and orange shakeups. There will also be a silhouette artist, who will draw portraits of people's faces, Hubbard said.

The event will include a live Mardi gras band, airbrush tattoos, bingo, photo postcards and a bungee run where students will race while a bungee cord is pulling them back.

"I hope everyone can come out and enjoy the activities," said Hubbard. "It is all just a part of UB."

Also at the meeting, it was announced that volunteers are needed for Panther Service Day, which will be held Saturday.

At the meeting, it was announced that exam kits are done and will be distributed in the halls during finals week for RHA members.

Brittany Kraft, National/Illinois Communications Coordinator, said the spring retreat last weekend for the Illinois Residence Hall Association went well. A few new executive board members attended the retreat.

"It was really refreshing for the new committee members," she said. "They enjoyed it a lot."

There will be an RHA banquet Wednesday evening in the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union Ballroom.

This was the last meeting of RHA for the year.
