Comedian cancels performance

Comedian Jordan Carlos' scheduled performance on Friday night at 7th Street Underground was canceled because of transportation problems.

Amy Baumgart, a graduate assistant in the Student Life Office, received a call around 6:30 p.m. informing her Carlos was still in Chicago.

He could not reach Eastern in time for his performance.

Even if Carlos could have left Chicago right away, Baumgart said it would have taken him at least three hours to arrive.

As soon as Baumgart received the call, she posted signs around the Martin Luther King, Jr. Union and at all entrances to 7th Street Underground.

She said there was no way to notify the entire campus.

"We're sorry that this happened to our campus," Baumgart said.

She said the cancellation was out of UB's control.

UB hopes to fill the schedule with another comedian, Baumgart said.

Baumgart has already spoken with Carlos's agent but is not sure yet if Carlos can make up his performance.
