Campus Briefs: Don't leave vehicles by Textbook Rental

While picking up or returning textbooks attended vehicles may be parked on the east side of 4th Street. Do not block driveways or handicapped parking spaces. Do not leave unattended vehicles parked on 4th Street.

Unattended vehicles parked on 4th Street will be ticketed and/or towed by the Charleston Police Department.

Eight open seats in Student Senate

Eastern's Student Government is accepting applications for eight open Student Senate seats. Applications are available today in the Student Activities Center, Room 2070 in the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union.

Applications must be returned by 4 p.m. Jan. 27. For more information, contact Student Senate Speaker Drew Griffin at dpgriffin@eiu.edu.

Spinning paintings open '09 Tarble Arts season

An exhibition of a series of silk-screened canvases that spin on the walls will be featured at Tarble Arts Center from Thursday through Feb. 22. Paul Henry Ramirez, New York City artist and creator of the canvases, will open the exhibition with a talk at 7 p.m. on Thursday. A reception for the artist will follow. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.

Lincoln's life depicted through folk music

Award-winning folk singer Chris Vallillo uses historic narratives, contemporary folk music and period folk songs to present the life of Abraham Lincoln.

The Abraham Lincoln in Song Workshop is at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the Lincoln Log Cabin State Historic Site in Lerna and is free and open to the public. For information, call the School of Continuing Education at 581-5114.
