Column: Doudna worth the buildup

Abstract:
Vaulted ceilings, mammoth glass walls, breath-taking theaters, bridges and halls that seem to lead to other dimensions rather than classes. This is the sort of thing that makes a person say, "Wow." This is Dounda.

I have been a freshman at Eastern for just barely two weeks and, still, up to that point I had yet to see the inside of the Doudna Fine Arts Center....

Easy to love Doudna when you arrive on campus after it's finished. Ask a few people who had to deal with the construction for years only to graduate before it was finished :)

I can't believe it is finally done..... I've come, since the building strated, and gone, since it was completed, from EIU and can only hope that the building is worth it... and by "it" I mean that YEARS of construction, noise, and dirt that constantly ran thru campus... I can only hope that the copper and bronze coating it had last year is finally covered up!!!

haha we wish

Yeaaaaaa we wish it was like that... it is still ugly... in 10 years will probably be so outdated it will make a list of biggest architectural mistakes ever.... oh BTW... the fire alarm malfunctioned the first day..... but dont get me wrong... ITS A GREAT BUILDING..... ha

Nicely written article that does justice to this new architectural wonder. I look forward to visiting the structure...and I'll be sure to pick-up a map!
