I attended this event and was honestly disappointed. I came with the intention of hearing how slurs would be reclaimed. But little did I know that the only word up for discussion was the "N" word. Now and then a slur regarding homosexuality would be brought up, but I feel that the panel could have been a lot more diverse. I myself have been a victim of racial slurs that are aimed at Asians and Latinos. I went to this event in hopes of being able to relate to others, but instead I felt left out.

I tried to assemble the most diverse panel and audience possible. LASO, along with every other multicultural RSO on campus, was contacted but never responded. In the third message I sent, I encouraged organization members to attend even if their organization was not represented on the panel.
