Column: DEN reporters are people, too

Abstract:
All of us at the DEN have had such a blast this summer - with our fun get-togethers, inside jokes and late nights. We recently just had our last staff meeting, where we gave awards to everyone-but they were funny awards that demonstrated their lives at the paper these past few months....

Other possible DEN awards

How about giving out some other DEN awards? Like..."Person who had the most comments on their story online because their article/editorial was ignorant?"...or how about "Person that makes you wonder "how in the heck did they get a job working for the DEN?'" or even..."Person that makes the readers of the DEN think to themselves 'Really?? Really??' because they are so frustrated when they have to read the writer's article"...

I know that me and some of my fellow DEN readers this summer were certainly frustrated and surprised by what we were forced to read in the DEN this summer.

Too many so-called editors (read: resume inflation) and not enough competent reporters.
