This is a good story, but I am confused as to how it relates to EIU and Charleston other than the fact that an Eastern student attended the event.

I completely agree. We justify running a story THAT LONG because we talked to one Eastern student in the story? Here's my question, and I really would appreciate an answer. Does the reporter know the student that went? Did they travel there together?

If so, that violates a major rule of journalism. You aren't supposed to interview your friends, and people at the DEN should know that by know.

Excellent article! It was well-written, very descriptive, and it allowed me to gain a better understanding of the unique cultural event that you experienced. Additionally, I enjoyed reading about the history of the local area. You don't find many articles as captivating as this in a big city newspaper either. And to the haters, can you find anything pettier to complain about? Again, excellent article!
